A work for symphony orchestra, choir, viola de gamba, clarinet, marimba, double Bass, piano and electronics. Commissioned as one of the headline acts for Sounds from a Safe Harbour. Based on the first book of the Aeneid, around the storm that destroys the boat of Aeneas.
With my compositions such as Franguntuur I wanted to capture the sound of a boat breaking apart. Using Lachemannesque extended techniques for the whole string section. While with Procella to capture the essence of the storm, huge electronic beats were combined with free improv and chaos to give a pulsating madness throughout.
